If the system is continuous
wn = abs(poles)
zeta = -real(poles)/poles
If the system is discrete, the discrete poles are mapped to their equivalent location in the s-plane via
s = log(poles)/dt
and
wn = abs(s)
zeta = -real(s)/wn
